To make your garden an attractive place for
birds you need plants that will provide food and shelter. Plants
provide a range of food sources for different species of birds eg.
nectar-rich plants attract honey-eaters and lorikeets, insect-attracting
plants will feed willie wagtails and thornbills, whilst seed-bearing
plants will lure parrots. Prickly plants provide a protective habitat
from predators for small birds. Birds will also appreciate water
in an area safe from cats.
