NEWSLETTER - SPRING 2007
Growing Natives comes to SKINC
SKINC Retail has now broadened out to include an interesting
selection of native plants. Our friend Charles Saffroy at Growing
Natives will be selling species from all over Australia that
are suitable for our local soils and climate.
The indigenous plants are being sold side-by-side with his stock and to make plant selection easy we have a new labelling system: Indigenous plants will have a blue label (and have provenance marked for each species); Native plants will have a yellow label. Charles is very knowledgeable about his stock so feel free to come for a browse and a chat with him.
Note: the plants that we supply to
the Council and other re-vegetators will continue to be strictly
indigenous to our local area.
Spring into Gardening Festival
SKINC and Growing Natives are having a stall at
the Spring into Gardening Festival, Victoria Gardens, Prahran on
Sunday 14 October from 11am to 4pm. It should be a fun day for anyone
with an interest in gardening, sustainability and water conservation
- which surely includes anyone reading this newsletter. There will
be a number of stalls and also a "variety of displays and demonstrations
from gardening and sustainability professionals."
Spring Sale Cancelled
For the first time ever SKINC will not be holding a spring sale. We can't as we have sold nearly all our stock this year! Which is fabulous for us, but if you are looking for a bargain we have a weekly selection of cheap plants for sale in the retail section and of course even our normal stock is very competitively priced, we're sure you'd agree.
Plastic fantastic
Finally we are coming into line with the rest of the modern world. We are pleased to announce that from now on we can offer Eftpos facilities at SKINC. No need to visit the cash machine before coming down here.
