Friends of Westgate Park

Westgate Park boasts an colourful display of plants from the sand belt region, along with their various habitats. This wide range of plants are regularly looked after by the Friends of Westgate Park (FOWP) members and volunteers and is an important source of plant material for the nursery.  FOWP conducts many activities including: plantings, preparing garden beds for planting, weeding and spreading of mulch. Their aim in the long term is to increase plant diversity, improve water quality in the various lakes present in the park and recreate the once diverse range of habitats that existed in the area.

The FOWP meets on the following days:

Every Monday and Tuesday (Except public holidays) from 8.30am to 4pm although you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

Every Third Sunday of the month from 10am to 4pm again you are welcome to stay as long as you like.

Tea, coffee and cold drinks are provided.

Bring your lunch if you plan to stay over lunchtime.
